Below are the Clinical Services Programs offered by the Pendleton County Health Department Clinical Nursing staff. A brief description of the services available is followed by appointment information. Scheduled clinics and times may be found on the Activity Calendar page.

HYPERTENSION SCREENING
- Screening, counseling, education, and referrals provided for individuals with hypertension.

- Blood sugar screening, counseling, education, and referrals for individuals with diabetic concerns.

BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER
SCREENING PROGRAM
- Screening includes clinical breast exam and pap smear by PHNPAT certified Registered Nurse.
- Education on breast self-examination.
- Mammogram referrals for women over 50 years of age or for follow-up of abnormal breast exam.
- Colposcopy referrals for women for follow-up of abnormal pap smear.
- Eligibility: Women 25 years of age with tubal ligation or post-menopausal.
- WV Diagnostic & Treatment Fund applications available.

FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAM
- Screening by a physician includes physical, clinical breast and pelvic exams, pap smear. Also included are sexually transmitted disease and HIV testing, family planning and STD education and counseling and education on various birth control methods.
- Birth control methods available: oral contraceptives (birth control pills), Depo Provera injections (birth control shots), Nuva Ring, Implanon, diaphragms, foam, condoms, IUDs, male and female sterilization, and NFP (natural family planning).
- Multi-vitamins with folic acid and pre-natal vitamins available.
- Pregnancy testing available.
- Eligibility is open to all females of child-bearing age and all males.
- Teens are encouraged to attend for education and counseling regarding abstinence and/or sexual health issues necessary for a healthy lifestyle.

STD SCREENING
- Confidential testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow up available.
- Counseling and prevention education provided.

HIV/AID SCREENING
- Confidential testing, diagnosis, and referral available.
- Counseling and prevention education provided.

IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM
- Participant in Vaccine for Children (VFC) program offered through CDC.
- All children from 0-18 years of age are eligible for many free vaccines regardless of financial status.
- Adult vaccines and private pay vaccines available upon request.

TUBERCULOSIS ELIMINATION PROGRAM
- Tuberculin skin testing and risk assessment for all ages.
- Diagnostic and treatment center for active cases as well as contacts.
- Prevention education provided.
- Case Management.
- Chest X-ray for follow-up of TB reactor or physician's referral.

HEALTHCHECK
- Complete physical examinations by physician, immunization updates, vision screening, dental and hearing referrals, and lead screening.
- Offered to patients from 0-21 years of age.

FLUORIDE SUPPLEMENTS
- Provision of fluoride supplements for children under dental guidelines.
- Water test for fluoride content required.
- Drops and tablets available.
- Children age 6 months to 16 years are eligible.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PREVENTION
- Follow up of reportable disease case reports from area providers, hospitals and laboratories on county residents.
- Follow up of contacts to case defined reports.
- Provider education and technical support.
